An update has emerged on AEW plans for the Beach Break special, with clarification emerging following recent comments.
With Samoa Joe to challenge for Jon Moxley’s AEW World Championship at Dynamite: Beach Break, Excalibur promoted the upcoming special as a “four-hour live TV special” on Wednesday’s (April 23) show.
This led to confusion, with fans unsure whether this meant that this episode would be four hours long, or if the special would span multiple nights.
As confirmed to POST Wrestling by an AEW official, AEW Beach Break will air across two nights, on May 14 and May 17.
These special Dynamite and Collision episodes will both take place on May 14 in Hoffman Estates, IL, with Dynamite Beach Break airing live and Collision Beach Break to be taped for that Saturday.
Jon Moxley vs Samoa Joe was announced following Joe choking Moxley out on the April 14 Dynamite Spring BreakThru show to win the AEW Trios Championship for himself, Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata.
Following these specials, AEW will return to pay-per-view for Double or Nothing 2025, which will air from Glendale, AZ on May 25.
