AEW
An update has emerged on AEW potentially holding a match following a fake graphic doing the rounds on social media.
A new International Champion was crowned at AEW WrestleDream, with Konosuke Takeshita defeating Ricochet and Will Ospreay to win the gold.
Following this bout, a fan-made graphic for Konosuke Takeshita vs Mascara Dorada was shared to Twitter, and quickly circulated online.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW actually wants to make this match happen now.
Dave Meltzer explained:
“They said, ‘That was a fake graphic… but what a great match. Boy do we wanna put that match on now’. So whoever made up this fake graphic, he spurred an idea in people’s heads, and in fact they love the idea of that match.
“I don’t know if it’s gonna happen any time soon. Mascara Dorada, as of now, has not been able to work for AEW. They want him, they would like to have him.”
