AEW Star Plans To Compete In Boxing & MMA AEW

AEW World Tag Team Champion Bobby Lashley has commented on his boxing and MMA career, ahead of potential return fights.

With Lashley sharing teases following his WWE exit, it was heavily speculated that he would have a professional fight as a free agent.

This didn’t happen, with Lashley ultimately signing with AEW, where he recently won the promotion’s tag titles.

Speaking on the latest edition of Hey! (EW), Lashley noted that he still intends to have a boxing or MMA match and continue his combat sports career.

The Almighty said:

“For me, when I got into it, it wasn’t just about making it to a certain level. When I get into something, I actually want to be a student of the game. I open up a gym.

“So I actually put myself into it. So I’ve learned all aspects of it. I’m the type that I’m okay with taking a back seat to not knowing everything. So I fought for 10 years. In that time, I was training at all kinds of different gyms and I ran my own gym.

“I was a student of the game. So it’s something that I still want to pursue. I’m going to do a boxing match or a fight still.”

Lashley has a 15-2 record in MMA, most recently defeating Josh Appelt via a round two submission at Bellator 162 in October 2016.

A previous report indicated that Lashley would be able to make his MMA return while signed to AEW, click here to read more.
