Kenny Omega faces Brian Cage on the January 15, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite and The Machine has opened up about the dream match.
Cage had previously stated that a match against Omega was the reason he signed with AEW and has now spoken more about the match.
With the match taking place on the Maximum Carnage episode of AEW Dynamite, Cage spoke about the match in a video accompanying a tweet that reads:
“January 2025 is set to deliver my dream match—what away to kick off the year! I’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain, and I’m determined to gain it all.
“I’m riding this tidal wave of momentum into the new year, and I will showcase my very best work on that stage. So, whether you’re a fan of Brian Cage or not, you’re about to become one.
“Get ready for Machine vs. Best Bout Machine, opening the show with limited commercial interruptions. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this! Expect maximum carnage on AEW Dynamite. Let’s fucking go!”
The video, which you can view below, sees Cage speaking directly to the camera, saying:
“It finally happens, the dream match comes true.
“That’s right, Kenny, I’ve wanted this for a long time… a very long time, ever since we had the duelling Terminator claps, when I was… the Luchador Destroyer in Lucha Underground and AAA and you were cleaning up the place in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. That’s right, The Cleaner, they call you The Cleaner.
“Well, if you’re The Cleaner, you can call me the Postal Delivery Man because I deliver each and every time I step foot in that ring and tomorrow it’ll be no different.
“Destiny has delivered you quite the hand and I’m not talking about your diverticulitis, no, no no… I’m talking about your first match back, your very first match back at All Elite Wrestling is against me.
“Do you see my dream match might be your nightmare? Because I’m going out there with nothing to lose.
“I got nothing to lose, Kenny, and everything to gain… everything to gain. So tomorrow, the Battle of the Machines – The Best Bout Machine versus The Machine.
“We open up the show, limited interruptions and I’m going out there and I’m showing everyone when they say week, after week, after week, nobody’s better… not even you.”

Cage and Omega last shared the ring on the November 15 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite in a Street Fight that saw The Golden Jets (Chris Jericho & Omega) team with Kota Ibushi and Paul Wight to take on Cage & The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher & Powerhouse Hobbs).
Following over a year out of action due to diverticulitis, Omega made his in-ring return at the January 5 Wrestle Dynasty show beating Gabe Kidd.
