AEW Star Says Current Storyline Is For Fans Who Like Slow Burn AEW

Former AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker has addressed criticism about her current storyline, stating that it isn’t for ‘microwave babies’.

Baker is currently aligned with Jamie Hayter, who won the AEW Women’s Title from Toni Storm in November at the Full Gear pay-per-view.

With Baker’s history with the title, some fans have questioned why Baker isn’t competing in the multi-woman AEW Women’s Championship bout slated for this weekend’s Revolution event, or why she hasn’t turned on Hayter yet.

Speaking with the New York Post, Baker stated that the current storyline surrounding the title is a slow-burn.

Believing that she’s currently in the best role for her, Baker said:

“I want to do anything to help the brand. I want to have any role that’s going to help elevate everybody else and totally elevate the women’s division. Right now, I truly think this is the best role for me.

“I don’t think I need to be in a pay-per-view match. I don’t think I need to be having matches every week or promos every week. Right now, this is where I’m supposed to be.

“For the microwave babies that want something right now, this story’s probably not for them.

“But for the fans who like the slow simmer, this story is really exciting and it’s gonna be really exciting.”

At AEW Revolution, Hayter will defend her gold against Saraya and Ruby Soho in a threeway bout.
