A popular AEW star has revealed that watching a recent in-ring return match had a life-changing effect on them.
Britt Baker referred to Adam Cole’s return match after a serious head injury had seen him sidelined for nearly nine months with the pair having discussed the possibility that Cole may never wrestle again.
His return match would take place on March 29 and also herald the start of the reality TV series AEW: All Access.
Baker would go into detail on her feelings over Cole’s return on the Good Karma Wrestling podcast, saying:
“I was watching in the back on one of the screens with The Young Bucks and we were kind of all just holding our breath every time he hit the mat like, ‘Oh my God, is he going to be okay’. It’s scary.”
She would then reveal the life-affirming side of the experience and how it has helped her in a life-changing way:
“When you remember professional wrestling is inches away from something terrible happening, something going terribly wrong and with his injury, you just realize how precious it is.
“It puts everything into perspective.”
Baker recently revealed that Adam Cole wasn’t originally expected to be part of AEW: All Access but wanted to chronicle his recovery from his head injury.
She has also spoken about her hopes for the AEW women’s roster, calling for an army of support from the locker room.
