A new update has emerged regarding the current contract status of both AEW’s Arn Anderson and his son Brock Anderson.
Arn Anderson first appeared for AEW at the company’s inaugural All Out pay-per-view in 2019, and signed a contract in December of that year. He has most prominently worked as a manager for AEW co-founder Cody Rhodes.
Brock Anderson signed with the company in 2021.
In a recent Zoom interview with AdFreeShows, Arn Anderson spoke about his and his son’s plans heading in to 2023:
“I’m hanging onto the idea that Brock just hasn’t had his second chance yet because of the rotation.
“I’m still under contract for about a year and a half, Brock about six months.
“I’m sure Tony (Khan) struggles with it, trying to get everybody on there and get everybody rotated, but we’re just hanging on; we don’t want to do anything else.”
The former Horseman also spoke more generally about how he tries to improve as much as he can even at his late age:
“The key to this business to getting better is consistency and wrestling reps, day after day, three days in a row, four days in a row. That’s how you get better and that’s just not an opportunity to where we are now.”
Brock Anderson’s last televised match in AEW was a 10-man tag match back in April when he, Lee Johnson, Brian Pillman Jr, Griff Garrison, and Dante Martin lost to Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish and the Young Bucks.
His most recent match in AEW overall was when he challenged Daniel Garcia for the ROH Pure Wrestling Championship on an episode of Dark in October.
His former tag team partner Lee Johnson suffered an injury earlier this year that ruled him out for months and derailed things for the duo, but Johnson has since returned as a member of The Factory, while Anderson hasn’t.
