Fresh off the heels of Jeff Hardy’s shock AEW return on Wednesday’s Dynamite (April 12) Matt Hardy would announce that the next ‘final deletion’ match at the Hardy Compound will take place in the future.
Matt would coin the upcoming contest the Firm Deletion Match during a backstage interview on Friday’s Rampage (April 14), and will see the team of Matt, Jeff, Hook and Isiah Kassidy against The Firm’s Ethan Page, Big Bill, Lee Moriarty and Stokely Hathaway.
While there is as of yet no firm date on the match, one of its contestants has teased a potential character change for the match.
Speaking to Dark Puroresu Flowsion, Isiah Kassidy would perhaps tease the debut of ‘broken zay’, saying:
“It’s going to be SUPER wild! Lowkey, I would love to see a Broken Zay. If I’m out of pocket now. I wonder how unhinged Broken Zay would be.”
The match has the added stipulation that if team Hardy win the match then both Matt and Isiah will officially own their contracts once again following month’s of ownership from The Firm.
Despite Jeff getting somewhat physical during his return on Dynamite, his recent eye surgery may prevent him from actually returning to the ring immediately.
