With Bryan Danielson sidelined due to injury, scrapped plans for an upcoming PPV match have been revealed.

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Danielson defeated Kazuchika Okada by submission despite suffering a broken arm during the match.

Brie Garcia (Brie Bella, Danielson’s wife) would share an image of the X-ray showing the break and her own thoughts on her husband continuing the match.

With Danielson being a fundamental part of AEW in front of the camera and behind the scenes, the injury has led to some changes to what we’re seeing with the Blackpool Combat Club.

Among those changes are a changes to the upcoming Blood & Guts match on July 19 at Boston’s TD Garden.

As announced on AEW Dynamite on June 28, The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club are going head-to-head at the visceral event.

Danielson was part of those plans, with Dave Meltzer writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that:

“There was talk of a Danielson vs. Ishii singles match (which was to happen this week but Jon Moxley took his place) as well as his being in a Blood and Guts with the Elite vs. BCC on 7/19 in Boston, but obviously Danielson won’t be able to be part of anything soon.”

Danielson came out to Final Countdown at Forbidden Door, with Tony Khan referring to it as a moment that gave him true happiness.

When it came to the cost of licensing the track, it would be stated that it cost “as much as a wrestler’s contract.”
