AEW
An AEW star has hit a major championship milestone with the company, officially reaching 500 days as champion.
While Mercedes Mone currently makes her entrance with nine different championship belts, today is an extra special day for one reign in particular.
The CEO has now been AEW TBS Champion for 500 days. She won the gold from Willow Nightingale at the May 26, 2024 edition of Double or Nothing.
Interestingly, Mercedes Mone is not the longest-reigning TBS Champion, with inaugural champion Jade Cargill holding the gold for 508 days.
Cargill won a tournament to become champion in January 2022 and dropped the title to Kris Statlander at Double or Nothing 2023 that May.
Mercedes Mone last defended the TBS Championship on the October 7 edition of Dynamite, with her open challenge answered by former WWE star Lacey Lane (fka Kayden Carter).
She has defended her TBS Championship 22 times over the past 500 days, against the likes of Riho, Mina Shirakawa, Kris Statlander, Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida.
Mercedes Mone will have the opportunity to add a 10th belt to her collection later this month, with Mone set to challenge for another championship.
