Plans For AEW Champion Following Injury Revealed AEW

An update has emerged on plans for a current AEW champion, who confirmed that he suffered an injury during a recent match.

Bandido defended his ROH World Championship against Hechicero in Arena Mexico on Friday, October 3.

With the luchador later confirming that he had suffered a dislocated shoulder during the match, sharing a photo of his arm in a sling, there was some uncertainty surrounding Bandido’s future as both ROH World Champion and AEW Tag Team Champion.

AEW’s Tony Khan has now shared an update on Bandido, revealing what’s next for the champion.

AEW has announced Bandido & Brody King for a Double Jeopardy Eliminator match against Konosuke Takeshita and AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada.

If either Brody King or Bandido score a pin, they will earn a shot at Okada’s Unified Title, regardless of if they pin Okada or Takeshita.

If Okada and Takeshita are victorious however, they will receive a shot at Brodido’s AEW Tag Team Championship.

Brody King took to Twitter to share this match announcement, telling Bandido:

Mr Bandido, you better tape your shoulder back together we got work to do.

Tony Khan confirmed that Bandido told him that he wants to wrestle on Dynamite, with the AEW President commenting:

I talked to him this morning! He said that he wants to power through it + wrestle on Tuesday!

We will continue to provide updates on Bandido as they become available, and wish him a safe and healthy recovery.
