An AEW/ROH star successfully defended their championship at a STARDOM event, with a rematch in the US being teased.
Athena’s 2025 has started with an international run, with the ROH Women’s Champion making her debut for STARDOM in Japan.
The AEW star was most recently in action at Monday’s (January 13) New Year Stars event, where she defended her ROH Women’s Title against Thekla.
Athena was ultimately victorious, defeating Thekla to defend her gold.
Following the match, Athena told Thekla that she respects her and would love to have a rematch, possibly in the US.
An official rematch hasn’t been announced at the time of writing.
You can watch highlights from the match below.
Athena has held the ROH Women’s Championship for over 760 days, originally winning the gold from Mercedes Martinez at the December 10, 2022 ROH Final Battle event.
Despite being signed to AEW, Athena hasn’t wrestled for the promotion since April 2024, when she defeated Red Velvet in a ROH Women’s Title defence.
