AEW President Tony Khan has announced that a current champion is ‘medically suspended’ following a recent match.
At last weekend’s AEW All Out pay-per-view event, the pre-show ‘Tailgate Brawl’ took place prior to the start of the event, which featured a number of matches.
Among those matches was Daniel Garcia’s first singles match as a member of the Death Riders, with him facing off against The Opps’ Katsuyori Shibata.
Garcia would end up picking up the win in the match, with him continuing the attack on Shibata after the match.
Ahead of tonight’s AEW Dynamite show, Tony Khan was live with Renee Paquette, where he gave a preview of tonight’s show, including an update on Shibata.
Khan noted that Shibata has been ‘medically suspended’ following All Out and the match with Daniel Garcia.
The rivalry between the Opps and Death Riders will continue on tonight’s show, with Powerhouse Hobbs facing off against Claudio Castagnoli.
Hobbs, Shibata and Samoa Joe currently reign as the AEW World Trios Champions.
