AEW
With an AEW star currently recovering from surgery, a fellow champion has addressed the plans to replace him.
Dustin Rhodes recently confirmed that he underwent double knee replacement surgery and will be absent from AEW and ROH as he recovers.
With Rhodes holding two championships in ROH, it was recently confirmed that Sammy Guevara will join Marshall & Ross Von Erich to defend the titles at ROH Death Before Dishonor.
While Guevara and the Von Erichs may be facing Shane Taylor Promotions on the August 29 pay-per-view, that just leaves the fate of the ROH World Tag Team Championship.
Guevara had been left with a decision to make for his choice of tag team partner against The Outrunners and has now reacted to his predicament, tweeting:
“Teaming with Dustin Rhodes was an honor, but every chapter ends so a new one can begin. #BestEver”
With Guevara teaming with an as-yet-unknown mystery partner, Tony Khan would confirm that it is the “choice” of the ROH World Tag Team Champion.
Either way, there’ll be two Sammy Guevara matches on the card for ROH Death Before Dishonor.
WrestleTalk wishes Dustin Rhodes well as he recovers from his surgery.
