AEW Champion Makes Surprise Return To Another Company AEW

A current AEW champion made a surprise appearance at another company’s event on Friday, January 10.

At last night’s West Coast Pro: Only The Strong Survive show at The State Room in San Francisco, CA, AEW TNT Champion Daniel Garcia showed up an unannounced participant in a six-man tag team match, marking his return to the promotion for the first time since September 2023.

Teaming up with Titus Alexander and Starboy Charlie, the trio took on former AEW star Alan Angels, Judas Icarus and Travis Williams, with Garcia making the save after Alexander and Charlie were the victims of a three-on-two attack.

Garcia would lead the team to victory at the show, with all three even doing Garcia’s signature dance in the ring before the match began (see below).

Garcia teaming with Titus Alexander was a stark contrast to their last meeting in West Coast Pro, as at the September 10, 2023 From The West Coast With Love show, where the pair fought to a 30-minute time limit draw over the West Coast Pro Heavyweight Championship.

The AEW TNT Champion recently put his title on the line against fellow 2024 Continental Classic participant Mark Brisoce on last Saturday’s episode of Collision (January 4), but unlike their meeting in the Blue League a month prior it was Garcia who picked up the win.
