An AEW championship has now changed hands following an injury on this week’s Dynamite show, with a new interim champion crowned.
An injury unfortunately struck on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, when AEW Trios Champion PAC was in action against Swerve Strickland on the show.
However, the match ended rather abruptly after PAC suffered an injury on the outside, with Swerve hitting the Swerve Stomp as soon as PAC re-entered the ring and immediately ending the match.
The injury to PAC was reportedly legitimate, which led to a lot of speculation about his future, and the future of the AEW World Trios Championship.
To kick off tonight’s episode of Collision, Tony Schiavone announced that PAC was out of action following the injury.
However, the Death Riders’ reign as Trios Champions will continue, with Jon Moxley now officially recognised as the interim champion in PAC’s absence.
Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders will be defend the titles against the Opps on next week’s Spring BreakThru episode of Dynamite.
