AEW Championship Match In Another Company Revealed? AEW

An AEW championship is seemingly set to be defended in another company, while two stars set out to claim a title of their own.

At NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka on February 11, AEW star Ricochet appeared on screen alongside his teammates in The Demand, Gates of Agony.

The AEW National Champion laid out a challenge to Taiji Ishimori, strongly indicating that the title would be on the line, saying:

“Hello to all of my frequent flyers out there, this is your captain speaking and we are The Demand, and The Demand will be taking over Trenton, New Jersey, February 27 for New Beginning.

“New Beginning, where I will be calling out Taiji Ishimori, a legend in the Junior division, Mr. Bone Soldier himself.

Ricochet would then tap the AEW National Championship, indicating that the title would be on the line, before revealing that wasn’t the only thing that The Demand had to say.

Bishop Kaun would state that their return to NJPW would see a more dangerous iteration than that seen in the World Tag League back in 2023, explaining:

“It’s been a couple of years since the Tag League. We are no longer the beasts we were back then. We are sharks, and we smell blood in the water.”

Toa Liona would continue the thought, relishing in what was to come as he declared Knock Out Brothers are their target, saying:

“I can taste it and I see it. Y’all to stay in that ring right now. You’re all the little minnows, and these sharks are circling you, and we got our eyes on the IWGP Tag Team titles.”

At NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka, Knock Out Brothers (Oskar & Yuto-Ice) retained the IWGP Tag Team Championship against Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura.

Elsewhere on the February 11 show, David Finlay appeared to bid the company farewell ahead of his contract expiry and a potential signing elsewhere.
