AEW
A championship unification match has been officially announced to be taking place on the Wednesday, November 19 episode of AEW Dynamite.
At AEW WrestleDream on October 18, Mercedes Moné added to her extensive championship collection by knocking off Mina Shirakawa to win the Interim ROH Women’s World TV Championship.
Just one week after Mercedes’ win however, the original ROH Women’s World TV Champion Red Velvet would re-emerge after spending three months on the shelf due to injury, and immediately laid out a challenge to Moné for a unification bout.
Now, almost a month later, that match has been made official, as it was announced at the end of tonight’s AEW Collision that Moné vs. Red Velvet will be happening on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite & Collision three hour special in Boston, MA.
There’s a chance that “The CEO” will be walking into Dynamite with championship number 13 to her name, as she seeks to dethrone Nor “Phoenix” Diana for the APAC Wrestling Women’s Title at tonight’s House of Glory Superclash event in New York.
Then, in what would be the crowning glory of Mercedes’ “Ultimo Moné” run, the former WWE star will attempt to win her first AEW Women’s World Title at AEW Full Gear on November 22 as she challenges reigning champion Kris Statlander.
