Since joining AEW in 2019, Chris Jericho has featured in prominent storylines, being the first AEW World Champion and the ROH World Champion.
His recent loss of the ROH World Championship has seen Jericho on something of a downward trajectory.
The championship was lost to Claudio Castagnoli at ROH Final Battle and Jericho would go on to lose to Action Andretti and Ricky Starks thereafter.
The loss to Andretti came as something of a surprise to AEW fans but would lead to the man being made #AllElite.
Tony Schiavone has now used the two post-Final Battle losses as proof of Jericho’s stature as a leader.
Speaking on the What Happened When podcast (subscription required), the AEW commentator would say:
“I have so much time for Chris Jericho. What a great leader he is.
“You know how I know he’s a great leader? He did the job to Action Andretti. Did the job to Ricky Starks.
“That’s a great leader. I’ll show you how you can lose and still keep your heat.”
Chris Jericho’s last win, at the time of writing, was when he defeated Tomohiro Ishii on the November 23 episode of AEW Dynamite.
