AEW Star Reveals Whether He’d Make WWE Return For Hall Of Fame WWE/AEW

AEW’s Chris Jericho has spoken about the possibility of becoming a future WWE Hall of Famer as more details for the Class of 2025 emerge.

Triple H has been named the first inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025, with more names to follow ahead of the ceremony set to take place over WrestleMania 41 week.

With Jericho’s history in WWE, the ROH World Champion was asked about the possibility of being inducted during an appearance on the No Holds Barred podcast.

Reflecting on his three-decade history in wrestling, Jericho noted that his enjoyment of being in the business was his focus and that he has a “who cares” attitude to the WWE Hall of Fame, saying:

“I’m not one of those guys who cares about the Hall of Fame because I don’t think it’s really real anyways.

“So in some ways, it’s like, ‘yeah whatever’, in other ways, I wanna pull a Sex Pistols and just refuse to show up – send a letter saying ‘Do not mention my name’ like Axl Rose did, what a great wrestling thing to do.

“So yeah, it doesn’t matter to me, it really doesn’t. It’s great that guys go in there and I’m glad they get a chance to, but I’m already in the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is up here (points to his head). It’s more for the fans.

“At this point in time I could get put in the Hall of Fame and maybe get booed out of the building, so who knows. We’ll see what happens, but right here right now, I’m enjoying what I’m still doing, definitely wouldn’t go in the Hall of Fame if I’m still actively performing in the ring.

“So we’ll see, we’ll see where it goes. For right now, I feel good, I’m doing great work, and when I feel it’s time to hang up the boots I will do so. Until then, I’m just enjoying being a part of the business as I always have for the last 34 years.”

Jericho’s last run, at the time of writing, in WWE saw him leave the company shortly after WrestleMania 33 in 2016.

His match with Kevin Owens was the second match on the show, coming after AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon, leading to Jericho feeling he “wasn’t a second match guy” and seeking opportunities elsewhere.

Follow his return to NJPW later in 2017, he would go on to sign with AEW in January 2019 and has since gone on to be an AEW World Champion and FTW Champion.
