AEW star Chris Jericho and WWE star MVP have now both offered up comments following reports of them getting into a legitimate confrontation.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter a few days ago that Jericho and MVP had gotten into an altercation at a hotel after the May 18 episode of AEW Dynamite in Houston.
One side’s version of the story is that MVP invited Jericho outside to “handle their issues”, but Jericho got into an elevator and said he “doesn’t fight jobbers”, leaving MVP screaming in the lobby.
In a new comment given to Fightful Select when they enquired about the situation, Jericho said: “Nothing else to say. I don’t fight jobbers. Nuff said”.
However, MVP denied that the reported details of how it played out were accurate. He told Fightful: “There was an exchange, but it didn’t go down like that”.
MVP had already publicly commented on the report, tweeting: “Even when they get the story right, they get the details wrong. Gotta love the dirt sheets”.
Fightful’s new report went on to add that a source claimed someone in AEW called WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis about the issue, but he “didn’t seem to care” when he found out the incident ended without anything actually happening.
Jericho and MVP are believed to have fallen out around 18 months ago due to political disagreements.
