AEW has confirmed plans for the festive season, with two TV special episodes now revealed ahead of Christmas week at an iconic venue.
For the second year in a row, AEW Dynamite on 34th Street will take place in the week leading up to Christmas, with Collision getting in on the festive action once more.
Following on from last year’s shows, both will emanate from the Hammerstein Ballroom once more, as confirmed by AEW in a post that revealed:
“🎄 THIS DECEMBER! AEW returns to the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom @ManhattanCenter in New York City, for an epic Holiday Celebration!
“#AEWDynamite on 34th St – Sat, Dec 20
“Christmas #AEWCollision – Sun, Dec 21”
The upcoming shows mark a return to Hammerstein Ballroom, with ROH last appearing there on January 2 of this this year.
Last year’s Dynamite on 34th Street took place on December 22, with the show being taped for broadcast three days later.
At the time, the AEW Continental Classic Tournament was underway, with the majority of the show focusing on Blue and Gold League action.
It isn’t currently known what matches will take place at this year’s Dynamite on 34th Street, although the official announcement graphic for both shows features Mercedes Mone, Darby Allin, Kris Statlander, Ricochet and Willow Nightingale.
