AEW’s Claudio Castagnoli Breaks Silence After Failing Mission From Jon Moxley AEW

Claudio Castagnoli has broken his silence after seemingly failing a mission from AEW World Champion Jon Moxley at NJPW Wrestle Dynasty.

With Shota Umino previously speaking out against his former mentor Jon Moxley, the AEW World Champion revealed that he would be sending a member from his Death Riders faction to teach Umino a lesson and ‘continue his education’.

It was later announced that Claudio Castagnoli would be facing Umino at the January 5 Wrestle Dynasty crossover show.

Interestingly, Umino was victorious, pinning Castagnoli after 14 minutes of action.

AEW has now shared a video of Castagnoli commenting on the match, arguing that while he isn’t happy, Umino’s win might’ve proven that Moxley was right about him all along.

Noting that he’s not done with Umino, Castagnoli said:

“This is the third time in a row that I’m standing in front of a camera, trying to find the right words. Honestly, I can’t. I’m pissed off and I’m definitely not happy with how tonight went, but you know what? I’m not new to losing.

“I’ve lost so many times that I can’t keep count. The difference between me and everybody else is that I’m still here. I’m not playing this finite game of how many in a row can I win, I want to win this and I want to win that, no. I am playing a game that’s way ahead of every single person.

“I’m still here, that’s why I’m still going at the rate I’m going, and that’s why everybody is trying to play catch-up.

“Shota, okay I admit it, better man tonight, you know what that proves? That proves to me that maybe, just maybe Mox was right about you.

“But that also proves to me that maybe, just maybe, you pissed me off even more that I was at you before. This was not the last time, Shota. See you soon.”
