Backstage Reaction To AEW Collision Debut Episode AEW

Now that the first episode of AEW Collision is in the history books, backstage reaction has been revealed.

The first episode of AEW Collision aired on June 17 and featured a fiery promo from CM Punk and a title changing hands.

With analysis of the numbers showing that AEW Collision was a well-searched term among fans, the backstage reaction was also quite high on the product.

According to PW Insider, their sources reported that “it was very positive across the board” backstage.

It was also felt that the show had “hit the mark in trying to feel different to Dynamite.”

Although there had been reporting of a roster split between AEW Dynamite and Collision, Tony Khan has recently revealed that “it’s not a separate roster” with “rivalries carrying over between shows.”

CM Punk is due to appear on the June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite in Chicago, with The Elite appearing in pre-taped segments.

Having been called “Counterfeit Bucks” during CM Punk’s promo, the Young Bucks responded on social media.

Andrade also made his presence felt on AEW Collision, using the Figure 8 during his match and apologising to Charlotte Flair afterwards.

It had previously been reported that Ace Steel would be involved in the CM Punk angles and major stories at Collision, and while he was not backstage in Chicago, PWInsider reported that he was in attendance at the show.

TV tapings for ROH took place before the debut episode of AEW Collision, with details for what took place being found here.
