ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe has issued an interesting challenge ahead of the debut episode of AEW Collision on June 17.
The first episode of the new show will emanate from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Speaking on the Kick Rocks Podcast, Samoa Joe confirmed that he will be in the arena for that taping.
Challenging local competitors to show up, Samoa Joe said:
I know I’m gonna be there (debut of AEW Collision). Anybody else in Chicago wanna show up, they can be there too. We’re gonna find out.
Joe was previously touted as a ‘headline star‘ of the new brand in AEW’s press release following the announcement of Collision.
The popular star recently commented on AEW’s large roster, and how the Collision show will help the promotion.
A major Chicago star who could be set to appear on the debut episode is CM Punk, with previous reports stating that the former AEW World Champion would be returning to TV on June 17.
There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding CM Punk’s status for Collision in recent weeks, for the latest on CM Punk and AEW Collision click here.
