After a five month absence, Yuka Sakazaki made her return during the recording of the September 14 episode of AEW Collision.
Tony Khan revealed that Sakazaki had been cleared to return and would be facing Serena Deeb on this Saturday’s episode.
Sakazaki has been out of action since the April 20 episode of AEW Rampage, suffering an injury in her match against Emi Sakura.
She posted a tweet, which can be seen below, that could be seen as a reintroduction to the fans after Khan’s announcement of her return.
Sakazaki made her AEW debut at Double or Nothing in May 2019, teaming with Emi Sakura and Aja Kong to take on Hikaru Shida, Riho and Ryo Mizunami.
She competed in the AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament in February 2021 and the Owen Hart Foundation 2022 Women’s Tournament in 2022.
Sakazaki has featured on AEW Rampage, Collision and Dark: Elevation, making occasional appearances on Dynamite.
This Saturday’s AEW Collision was taped in Dayton, Ohio on Thursday 12, 2024.
