Clarification has emerged on the status of a rumored AEW signing, following the star recently appearing for the company.
With Michael Oku finding himself linked to the Will Ospreay vs MJF AEW feud without appearing on AEW TV, many fans were predicting that Oku would get involved in their match at All In.
While this ultimately didn’t happen, the British star made his AEW debut in a non-televised dark match at the August 21 Dynamite taping in Cardiff, Wales.
This, and Oku’s 412 Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship reign ending during All In weekend, fuelled rumors that Oku has signed with AEW.
Per Fightful Select, Oku and Amira have NOT yet been offered deals by AEW.
Oku notably defeated Will Ospreay in the current International Champion’s final match before officially joining AEW, forcing Ospreay to submit after a 47 minute match of the year contender at February’s RevPro High Stakes event.
MJF has also faced off against Oku, defending his AEW American Championship against the Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion at the RevPro Summer Sizzler event on August 11.
Following his match against MJF, Oku confirmed that he had talked with Tony Khan about what they could potentially do in the future.
A new AEW hire was recently confirmed, which you can read more about right here.
