Amid his injury absence from wrestling, former AAA Mega Champion Hijo del Vikingo’s AEW contract status has been confirmed.
El Hijo del Vikingo has been out of action since suffering a torn meniscus and a ruptured ligament in late 2023.

During the latest edition of the K100 podcast, AAA booker Konnan was asked about Vikingo’s contract status with All Elite Wrestling.
Konnan confirmed that Hijo del Vikingo is not currently under any type of deal with AEW at this time.
The former AAA Mega Champion is free to wrestle anywhere, and Konnan stated that he believes fans will hear more soon.
