FTR Reveal They ‘Don’t Have Much Longer’ On AEW Contracts

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR have provided an update on their AEW statuses, commenting on their future with the promotion.

On Barstool Rasslin, the former AEW Tag Team Champions were asked about their goals for 2022. Still after a second title reign, Wheeler said:

“In 2022, we are going to get the titles back and we are going to have the title run that we should have had the first time where we are world-beaters.”

Harwood then teased the possibility of FTR leaving AEW, revealing that his and Wheeler’s current deals are coming to an end, noting:

“Because we don’t have very much longer on these current contracts. I don’t know what’s going to happen from there, but we have a short amount of time to accomplish the things we want to accomplish.”

Harwood also hinted at a move to NJPW, stating that the duo want to eventually win IWGP tag-team gold.

FTR debuted for AEW on the May 27, 2020 edition of Dynamite, driving into Daily’s Place and attacking The Butcher & The Blade.
While the exact length of Wheeler and Harwood’s contracts are not known, it has been speculated that they signed two-year deals ahead of their debuts, as this would mean that their contracts are set to expire in May 2022, five months from now.
FTR unsuccessfully challenged the Lucha Brothers for the AEW Tag Team Championship on the December 10 edition of Rampage.
