Here’s Why The AEW Crowd Chanted ‘HBK’ On Dynamite

Most of the AEW locker room’s love for Bret Hart has been very publicly known over the past few years.

On tonight’s (December 21) AEW Dynamite show though, it was Bret’s arch rival Shawn Michaels who got his turn to have his name chanted by the crowd.

Bryan Danielson chased off AEW World Champion MJF following his victory over Ricky Starks on last week’s show.

Tonight, Bryan came to the ring for an interview with Renee Paquette in San Antonio, Texas.

Bryan spoke about his history in San Antonio, as well as being trained by hometown hero Shawn Michaels.

This led to the name of NXT’s head booker being chanted by the San Antonio crowd on Dynamite.

Ethan Page and Stokely Hathaway then came out, and engaged in a war of words with Danielson.

This led to Bryan challenging Page to a match right then and there, but Page said no, and said the match would take place on next week’s show.
