Darby Allin Original Expected AEW Return Date Revealed

Darby Allin Original Expected AEW Return Date Revealed AEW

An update has emerged on former TNT Champion Darby Allin’s AEW status, with the original hope for his return to TV revealed.

Darby Allin hasn’t wrestled since wrestling Ricochet to a time-limit draw in the Continental Classic tournament, on the December 22, 2024 Dynamite episode.

With Allin setting off on his Mount Everest expedition during his absence, we recently received an update on the AEW star’s progress, with Allin himself sharing a video performing a skateboard kickflip at an elevation of 20,958 feet.

Amid uncertainty about his return, an update has emerged on AEW’s initial hopes for Darby Allin’s comeback.

Per Fightful Select, when they asked about Allin’s status in January, they were told that he wasn’t expected to return until Spring, with Allin already off TV at this point.

Fightful noted that more recently when asking about his potential return, they were told that the initial hope was for Allin to be back by the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, with hopes that he could be featured at Double or Nothing. The report noted that Fightful hasn’t received an update on official plans since then.

As of writing we are one week out from Double or Nothing, which will emanate from the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona on May 25.

Mount Everest stands at 29,035 feet tall, meaning that Allin would’ve had 8077 feet (1.5 miles/2.4 km) of elevation to climb before reaching the highest point on Earth at the time of recording his kickflip. This video was posted to Allin’s social media on May 5.

Fightful pointed out that the typical climb of Everest can take between six to ten weeks. Allin started his climb in early April, meaning that he has been climbing for just under six weeks at the time of writing.
