AEW Champion Offers Title Match To Future Star AEW

An AEW star had been a champion for barely ten minutes when he extended a title opportunity to a young independent wrestling star.

After defying the odds and defeating Samoa Joe, Darby Allin won the TNT Championship for the second time.

After the January 4 edition of AEW Dynamite went off air, Allin called Nick Wayne to the ring and promised him a TNT Championship match when he graduates from high school.

Nick Wayne and Darby Allin have a history together already.

It was Allin who presented the then-16-year-old Wayne with an AEW contract.

Still at school at the time, Wayne’s deal would commence when he turns 18.

Wayne has continued to ply his trade on the independent circuit, being a regular fixture at GCW and also making appearances at Progress Wrestling. DEFY, West Coast Pro Wrestling and other companies.

He is Buddy Wayne’s son and the grandson of Moondog Ed Moretti.

Buddy Wayne performed for WWE and WCW in the 1990s, whilst Moondog Ed Moretti was a member of The Moondogs, a stable that performed in WWE and on the independent circuit.

Born on July 10 2005, he will turn 18 in 2023.
