AEW’s Dax Harwood recently addressed Sasha Banks’ issues with WWE in an episode of FTR With Dax.
Sporting a Shevival T-shirt, featuring himself, Cash Wheeler, Sasha Banks and Bayley, Harwood would speak of his closeness with the pair.
He referred to it as “one of his favourite” times in wrestling and how Banks and Bayley wanted to elevate women’s wrestling.
Whilst The Revival would eventually end up in AEW, Bayley would stay in WWE and Banks would leave WWE, although Harwood did ask:
“Has she left?
“I don’t know. Maybe.”

Moving on to the subject of Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out on WWE, Harwood spoke of Banks’ attitude towards wrestling, explaining:
“She did take the tag team titles very seriously but she took wrestling very seriously, too.
“She didn’t get into wrestling just to get into wrestling, you know.
“She got into wrestling to make a difference.
“And, not just for women’s wrestling, for all of wrestling.”

Harwood would go on to discuss how Banks viewed herself in wrestling, saying:
“She wanted to be looked at in the same like as a Stone Stone Cold Austin or a Hulk Hogan or a Rock.
“She wanted to be looked at that way and she wanted to make a difference that way.”

Banks certainly has the star appeal to rise to that level and had crossed over from wrestling to mainstream media thanks to her appearances in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian.
Dax would highlight an issue that he saw in her and how that echoed his own issues in WWE, saying:
“She’s very prideful.
“And, sometimes, speaking from experience, pride can rub people the wrong way because you do stand up for what you believe in.
“You don’t take no for an answer because you want the best for yourself but you want the best for your craft, your art.
“You take it so seriously, man, it’s a recipe for success but also a lot of people aren’t going to like you because of it.
“And, I think that’s what kinda what maybe happened to her.”

Banks (now going by her real name of Mercedes Varnado) is heavily rumored to be involved in NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4 2023.
It was recently reported that her former WWE tag partner Naomi was also slated to be in Japan at the same time as the New Japan event.
The pair haven’t wrestled since walking out on the May 16, 2022 WWE Raw taping.
