AEW Departure Confirmed Ahead Of Official Exit AEW

Maria Kanellis-Bennett has now confirmed her imminent AEW departure, announcing that Friday (January 31) is her last day with the company.

While Maria noted back in October that her AEW contract was set to expire that month, Fightful Select then reported that “the two sides actually agreed to a short extension that would benefit both sides,” with the extension running through January 2025.

While there had been some speculation that she could sign a new deal with the company, Maria has now announced that January 31 will be her final day with AEW, with the former WWE name set to become a free agent on February 1.

Noting that her husband Mike Bennett is still with the company, she took to Twitter to note:

This is my last day with AEW.

Mike still works there. We have kids.

When asked if there’s any chance of her signing a new contract with the company, she simply responded:

No thank you.

She also shared contact details for future bookings and updates on her future in another tweet, which you can view below.

While Kanellis-Bennett hasn’t competed as a wrestler since 2019, she has held numerous roles both on-screen and behind the scenes in the past.

She has also appeared on AEW/ROH television as a manager and notably worked on the creative team for the ROH women’s division under the previous regime.

We will continue to provide updates on Maria Kanellis-Bennett’s status as they become available.
