An AEW star has addressed reports and rumors that they’re departing the company, following their lengthy absence from TV.
Dave Meltzer reported in the March 10 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Abadon and Nick Comoroto were two stars who it’s expected won’t be re-signed when their current AEW contracts expire.
A Twitter user referenced this report with a post on April 12, writing that AEW is planning on letting Abadon and NickComoroto’s contracts expire, and crediting this to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Abadon – who’s Twitter name is notably “Abadon_AEW” – has now responded to this post, writing:
Man I can’t WAIT to make my own announcement.
As of writing, both Abadon and Nick Comoroto are both listed on the AEW roster page, although this is sometimes slow to be updated.
Abadon made their AEW debut in March 2020, and signed a contract with the company that June.
They last wrestled for AEW at the December 2023 Worlds End pay-per-view, unsuccessfully challenging for Julia Hart’s TBS Championship.
They has more recently wrestled for ROH, last competing for the brand at the February 8 TV taping, against Rachael Ellering.
We will continue to provide updates on Abadon’s status as they become available.
