AEW Name Slams “Teaching Him To Speak English” Tweet From WCW Star AEW/PWG

Following the appearance of AEW stars at the PWG Battle of Los Angeles Night 2, rumors have emerged of stories being recorded for AEW.

As previously reported, Chris Jericho made his PWG debut on the show, teaming with Daniel Garcia, Sammy Guevara, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker to face Jonathan Gresham, Evil Uno, SB Kento, Michael Oku, & Kevin Blackwood in 10-man tag team action.

Eddie Kingston was notably on commentary for the Bryan Keith vs Masha Slamovich tournament match.

AEW also filmed content at the show, with Don Callis scouting Takeshita in a segment being filmed for AEW.

A photo of the interaction between Callis and Takeshita also appeared on social media.

The photo would prompt the former WCW star Disco Inferno (real name Glenn Gilbertti) to respond on Twitter, saying:

“Is he teaching him to speak English??

“He needs to learn how to speak English well to be a star.”

Gilbertti’s Tweet would be roundly lambasted on Twitter, with some pointing out other wrestler stars who, despite speaking English, had become a star without speaking much.

Amongst the names suggested were “Goldberg, Sting, Kane, Sid, Vader, Big Show and Undertaker to name a few.”

Don Callis would also take exception to Inferno’s incendiary comments, pointing out:

“His English is better than yours …you can’t string two word together without mumbling or saying “like””

It was recently reported that AEW are planning a ‘top tier’ push for Konosuke Takeshita.
