A short video has been shared of a wrestling fan watching NXT Battleground at AEW Double or Nothing.
The video was shared by Around The Point Network and can be seen below this news story.
Naturally, Twitter had an opinion on the whole situation and it was clearly a divisive topic.
Responses ranged from the likes of OzmanOOS with:
“#rasslin hehe
“Man of culture”
To comment from fans like JDub9911 reflecting on the head-to-head nature of both shows:
“Dude did the exact thing I did with 2 PPVs taking place at the same time.
“Y’all need to stop with the bullsh*t and let people enjoy things.”
The EWZine didn’t question the motive of the fan but turned their attention toward the audience and action at the AEW event:
“Why are they so f’n DEAD…
“There is a MATCH going on in that ring.”
It was a point also echoed by Husband & Wife, saying:
“That is pretty embarrassing if the crowd is not interacting then that’s already a bad sign for the people who said AEW double or nothing was going to basically be better than NXT battleground.”
“I’m wondering how many people still feel that way after yesterday’s greatness today, look like it followed suit.
“Imagine going to a pay-per-view and watching the other pay-per-view on your phone.”
A number of replies did comment on the quality of the crowd at AEW Double or Nothing, with bigE1209 calling them “the worst worst crowd in AEW PPV history”.
He wouldn’t be the only fan to comment on the crowd and say that the PPV itself was disappointing.
There were, of course, comments slamming the fan for going to the show to watch another show, with Dissconnect saying “bro paid for tickets to troll. What a loser”.
While others observed that he was being a fan and enjoying wrestling on his own terms.
As Joongi put it:
“I mean… He’s a wrestling fan, he wants to watch both, I don’t see anything wrong with this lol”
