At AEW Double or Nothing on pay-per-view tonight (May 28) Chris Jericho and Adam Cole unleashed unsanctioned violence.
Looking to settle their on-going feud since the return of Adam Cole, Cole took on foe Chris Jericho but the duo didn’t start out alone.
With Chris Jericho being accompanied to the ring by the Jericho Appreciation Society, Adam Cole was also not alone.
Bringing with him ‘special enforcer’ Sabu as well as Roderick Strong, the aforementioned wouldn’t be the only surprise stars of the match.
After brawling at the beginning of the match, eventually Strong, Sabu and the J.A.S. members at ringside brawled to the back as Cole and Jericho went one on one.
That is until there was a run-out from Cole’s real life partner and past victim of Jericho’s hit squad, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.
With Baker coming out to knock around Jericho with a kendo stick, she was only briefly interrupted by Saraya.
However when Saraya quickly became the target of Baker’s rage, she instead opted to run away to the back with Baker giving chase as the unsanctioned match continued.
In the end, Adam Cole seemingly took Chris Jericho to the absolute limit, winning the bout via referee stoppage.
The match ending via stoppage in the way that it did was a finish that confused a lot of fans and caught people off guard given the “unsanctioned” stipulation.
Elsewhere already on AEW’s pay-per-view AEW Double or Nothing, Orange Cassidy looked to defend the AEW International Championship against 20 other men in the Blackjack Battle Royal.
