There was a notable heel turn after a championship match at tonight’s AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas.
The TBS Championship was on the line when Willow Nightingale looked to defend her title against Mercedes Mone in the latter’s debut match in AEW.
At one point in the match, Nightingale had Mone pinned for way more than a three count, but the referee was distracted by Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway.
Statlanader and Hathaway who, supposedly, were in Nigtingale’s own corner.
Not long after, Mone hit her finisher the Mone Maker and captured the pinfall victory to win her first title in her first match in AEW.
After Nightingale’s loss, she was first comforted by Kris Statlander.
However, Stokely Hathaway got in their faces and was eventually shoved aside, left standing alone in the ring.
But as they went up the ramp, Statlander attacked Willow Nightingale, securing a heel turn for herself in the process, and confirming she is aligned with Hathaway after all.
You can see the entire scene below as Nightingale lost both her friends and her title at Double or Nothing in Las Vegas.
The segment ended after the beatdown with Stokely and Statlander standing tall.
