The real reason why AEW Double or Nothing 2025 won’t take place in Las Vegas has been revealed.

Glendale, Arizona will be the host city of the May, 25, 2025 AEW Double or Nothing and the reason it’s not a return to Vegas has been revealed as WWE-related.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has revealed that decision makers in AEW believe that the May date would be too soon after WrestleMania 41, which will take place at the Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium on April 19-20.

Meltzer wrote:

“It’s not going to Las Vegas because the date would be too soon after WrestleMania in their minds”

This will be the third Double or Nothing event since 2019 which won’t take place in Las Vegas, with the 2020 and 2021 events taking place in Jacksonville due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As has become a regular feature around WrestleMania time, WWE will hold a number of events in Las Vegas during WrestleMania 41 week.

After SmackDown, the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be inducted with NXT Stand & Deliver taking place on April 19 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise.

The weekend ends with WWE Raw after WrestleMania on Monday, April 21 at the T-Mobile Arena.

Also running from April 17 to April 21 is WWE World at WrestleMania, a fan convention at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
