AEW International Champion Will Ospreay has called for more stars to go on international excursions, naming a star who has “dramatically improved”.
Anna Jay made her AEW in-ring return on Friday’s (September 27) Rampage episode, defeating Robyn Renegade in singles action.
This was Jay’s first match on AEW TV in three months, with Jay not appearing for the promotion over the summer.
Instead, Jay was wrestling in Japan, competing in the STARDOM 5STAR Grand Prix tournament.
Will Ospreay has now taken to Twitter to praise Anna, noting that her footwork and pacing has significantly improved following her excursion.
Hoping that more stars will get similar opportunities, Ospreay said:
Even in just this clip. Anna Jays footwork and pacing has dramatically improved.
Shows that if you commit yourself over in Japan there can be crazy improvements.
I genuinely hope we can send more over to Japan.
Looking forward to seeing more
Former AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm is currently in Japan, ahead of challenging for Mayu Iwatani’s IWGP Women’s Championship on October 5.
Storm has now broken her silence on her former friend Mariah May, which you can read more about right here.
