# AEW Star Dustin Rhodes Future Surgery Plans Revealed

AEW star Dustin Rhodes has revealed plans for future surgeries, while out of action recovering from a previous procedure.

The former AEW TNT Champion is currently recovering from [double knee replacement surgery](https://wrestletalk.com/news/aew-dustin-rhodes-knee-surgery/), which he underwent in August.

While Rhodes has stated that he intends to [return to the ring early next year](https://wrestletalk.com/news/aew-dustin-rhodes-return-update/), he has now revealed that he has plans to have shoulder surgery following his eventual retirement.

Sharing this surgery update, Dustin Rhodes took to [Twitter](https://x.com/dustinrhodes/status/1989143689961304408) to reveal:

*“The one positive I can say about my knee replacements is, the arthritis is gone. I will be doing both shoulder when I call it quits.*

*“They are also destroyed. I chose to abuse my body in more ways than 1, and wouldn’t change a damn thing.”*

Dustin Rhodes previously stated that he expects to retire from wrestling [within the next few years.](https://wrestletalk.com/news/dustin-rhodes-aew-retirement-timeline/)

He has stated on numerous occasions that he intends to retire with AEW, not WWE.

Dustin Rhodes last wrestled on the [July 31](https://www.allelitewrestling.com/post/aew-collision-results-july-31-2025) edition of AEW Collision, losing the TNT Championship to Kyle Fletcher in a Chicago Street Fight.
