A new year is upon us, as is a new look AEW Dynamite.
Tonight’s (January 4) AEW Dynamite show was the company’s debut in Seattle, and the first show with the new look graphics and set.
The set features LED screens on the entrance way, with the grungy look of the show now in the past.
The first man to make his entrance on the new look show was Chris Jericho, ahead of his match with Ricky Starks.
Jericho and Starks battled it out in the first AEW match of the year, and the Seattle crowd were hot for it.
In the end, Starks fought off 2point0 at ringside, pinning Jericho with a Spear to win the match.
Starks was assaulted by the rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society before Action Andretti ran out with a steel chair to make the save.
The JAS then turned the tides again on Andretti and Starks, with Jericho taking them out with a steel chair.
Jake Hager then Powerbombed Starks through the a table at ringside.
.@IAmJericho is not taking this loss well, as the #JerichoAppreciationSociety drive @starkmanjones through the table!
