Announcer Change For AEW Dynamite

Announcer Change For AEW Dynamite AEW

Tonight’s May 14 episode of AEW Dynamite in Chicago, Illinois featured a change to the usual announce team.

UPDATE – Schiavone appeared later during Dynamite for an in-ring interview segment.

The established AEW Dynamite commentary team has been the trio of Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone.

However, joining the call for tonight’s Dynamite – which is billed as the ‘Beach Break’ special episode – is Ian Riccaboni.

Riccaboni replaced Schiavone, who was absent from the desk, with tonight’s team being Riccaboni alongside Excalibur and Taz.

As of this writing, there’s been no mention of Schiavone or why he isn’t on commentary, but we’ll keep you posted if an update emerges.

This week’s Collision is being taped tonight after Dynamite, and Schiavone is usually the lead announcer for Collision, where he’s joined by Nigel McGuinness.

The opening match of Dyamite tonight featured Will Ospreay and Hangman Adam Page teaming up to face Konosuke Takeshita and Josh Alexander in a tag match.

With Takeshita and Alexander being members of the Don Callis Family, Callis actually joined Excalibur, Taz and Riccaboni as a guest commentator for the first match.

Ospreay and Page will be opponents at AEW Double Or Nothing on Sunday, May 25 in the final of this year’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament.

The winner of Ospreay vs Page will challenge for the AEW World Championship at All In Texas on July 12.

Jon Moxley defends the World Championship against Samoa Joe tonight in a steel cage match.
