AEW Dynamite Experiences Shocking Audience Reception

AEW Dynamite Experiences Shocking Audience Reception AEW

The April 19 episode of AEW Dynamite gave us Jay White vs Komander, the latest with the Four Pillars and the ongoing Chris Jericho/Adam Cole story.

What it didn’t give us though was strong viewer figures according to the analysis of the ShowBuzz Daily numbers.

A deep dive of the figures from F4W Online has revealed that the episode averaged 830,000 viewers, down by 4.2% from the previous week.

The episode had the lowest audience for an episode of AEW Dynamite since February 15 and is reportedly the second lowest of 2023 so far.

It did maintain its 18-49 demographic, however, with a 0.28 rating seeing it reach seventh on the cable chart.

The 0.28 rating makes it the joint lowest AEW Dynamite rating since March 15 and the fifth lowest of the year for the show so far.

Exploring the demographics further, F4W Online reports that it was down in most categories, but did see a rise among young women.

Reportedly, females 12-34 were up 8.3 per cent and the female 18-49 demo saw an increase of 18.8 per cent.

The biggest drop, however, was among the male audience, particularly 12-24 with a drop of 18.5 per cent.

MJF would note a positive, however, on Twitter, writing:

“My boy Sammy was up by 5% in key demo from the dynamite average for the last quarter hour of dynamite!!

“Sammy Guevara is a confirmed Draw!!!!

“Marks in the mud.

“Stay taking L’s”

Compared to the same time last year, Dynamite’s audience dropped by 10.8 per cent with the 18-49 demographic falling 24.3 per cent.

F4W Online notes that this is the eighteenth straight week that AEW Dynamite has and a year-on-year decline.
