Backstage Reaction To AEW Dynamite Following Weather Issues Revealed AEW

The March 19, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite took place in blizzard-hit Omaha and backstage reaction to the show has been revealed.

Taking place at The Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Nebraska, a severe weather warning was issued ahead of the event with Tony Khan going on to reveal that the wrestlers were in the city for the show.

Fightful Select has now revealed further details of the issues the show faced and the backstage reaction.

According to Fightful Select, “a lot of staff and wrestlers” who were set to be at the show were unable to make AEW Dynamite and the Collision tapings.

Sources revealed that AEW, specifically Tony Khan, was very happy with the show and that almost all the fans made it to the venue, having gone through the blizzard to get there.

Absent from the show was Swerve Strickland, although this was noted as being because he was recovering from an eardrum injury sustained at AEW Revolution on March 9.

This is the second week that AEW have suffered travel issues, with the report noting that this week was particular rough with some talent driving to the show as flights were cancelled.

Reports have emerged that Jon Moxley was one AEW name who had to drive to Omaha, completing a journey of eleven hours according to Wrestling Observer Live.

On the show, Moxley retained the AEW World Championship against Cope in a match that saw interference from FTR, Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne.

Referencing this, Fightful Select have revealed that there are “creative plans” to explain why the interference took place.
