AEW Dynamite Has A Shark Backstage To Celebrate Shark Week (Sort Of) AEW

Scheduled for tonight’s Fyter Fest Week 2 Shark Week themed edition (July 20) of AEW Dynamite, several major matches and it seems, an actual shark in attendance. Well, sort of.

AEW referee Aubrey Edwards took to Twitter ahead of AEW Dynamite to show off some professional snaps with the shark in attendance for AEW’s inaugural Discovery Channel Shark Week crossover, Chompy.

Also spotted chilling with Chompy, Nyla Rose, Vickie Guerrero and Marina Shafir.

No word on whether or not Chompy is set to feature in any angles on tonight’s show however the possibilities truly feel endless.

With a stacked card ahead for the Shark Week themed edition of AEW Dynamite, no one is on safe and dry land tonight!

While Interim baddie Leila Grey was announced to be not cleared for competition, a previously announced 6-woman tag match was altered to now become TBS champion Jade Cargill and Keira Hogan taking on Athena and Willow Nightingale, presumably still with Kris Statlander at ringside.

Aforementioned Interim AEW World Champion, Jon Moxley is set to team up with his fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Wheeler Yuta to take on former best friends in the Best Friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta with Orange Cassidy at ringside.

Finally, the hotly anticipated Barbed Wire Everywhere match with the Jericho Appreciation Society unable to interfere as they will be suspended over the ring in a shark cage as Chris Jericho takes on Eddie Kingston with Jericho vowing to resurrect his famed NJPW character iteration, ‘Painmaker’ for the brutal match.
