A grudge match kicked off tonight’s (July 20) AEW Dynamite between House of Black’s Brody King versus Darby Allin.
In a fascinating crossover, the ‘Master of Ceremonies’ for Discovery Channel’s Shark week, The Rock appeared as the first commercial during a picture in picture ad break.
Next to Darby Allin and Brody King’s brutal battle, The Rock’s Shark Week ad aired, with the graphics of the ad tying into the overall Shark Week theming already introduced on AEW Dynamite including the ring apron and barricades.
Brody King came out on top in the match final after a dominant performance, truly manhandling Darby Allin including continuing to choke Allin out after the match, seemingly to lure Sting to the ring.
As the icon marched to the ring, after Sting just got his hands on King, the lights went out. After they came back on, Sting was face to face with Malakai Black, who then hit Sting with the Black Mist!
It seemed House of Black had the upper hand until the Redeemer, Miro’s music hit and he made his entrance but stopped short of the ring with notably one side of his sunglasses being blacked out ominously, still recovering from his last faceoff with Malakai Black.
