The main event of AEW Dynamite last week saw NJPW star KENTA make his debut for the promotion as he teamed with Kenny Omega to take on the duo of Jon Moxley and Lance Archer in an unsanctioned tag team match.
Speaking about the match on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez both explained that parts of the match had to be cut due to time constraints:
Alvarez: “Time (caused it). Once they did the edit they went right to the end of the show, so that was the point of the edit, I presume they went long.”
Meltzer: “They did a 20 minute match, and usually on Dynamite they don’t do 20 minute matches anyway unless it’s like Omega and Moxley. So it was actually much longer than most matches on Dynamite.”

Last week’s AEW Dynamite show was pre-taped the week prior, so the promotion had a few days to go through and edit the main event to make sure the show finished on time.
