AEW Dynamite & NXT Viewership Down For March 11, 2021

As this was the first set of AEW Dynamite and NXT shows since the Revolution pay per view, there was some intrigue into how both shows would fare in the viewership. Now, we know both shows have taken a dip.

Showbuzz Daily has reported the viewership figures for both shows. NXT held steady, bringing in an average of 691,000 viewers. Meanwhile, Dynamite dropped to 743,000 average viewers.

NXT’s average was only 1,000 viewers less than last week’s. AEW’s number, on the other hand, was down substantially, losing 191,000 viewers from last week’s average of 934,000 viewers. Last week’s Dynamite was one of their highest-rated ever, featuring the in-ring debut of Shaquille O’Neal.

This week’s NXT was heavily promoted, featuring three championship matches and two major announcements. The announcements were the introduction of NXT Women’s Tag Team titles and the reveal of the date for their first two-night TakeOver.

The championship matches saw Io Shirai defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Toni Storm, Finn Balor defend the NXT Championship against Adam Cole, and Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart win the newly created NXT Women’s Tag Team titles from the inaugural champs Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.
